COX, Homer Mearle - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Attica - Homer Mearle Cox, 67, formerly of Attica, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday at Community Hospital, Williamsport where he had been a patient for 8 days. Mr. Cox had resided at Rt 1, Greencastle for the past 9 years with his mother. He was born Aug 27 1902 in Parke County, the son of Jesse and Mame Snodgrass Cox. He was first married to Luicia Hutson and then Evelyn Leak. Mr. Cox was a member of the Attica Eagles Lodge 2596. He is survived by his mother; a son, Homer Cox Jr. of Waveland; a daughter, Mrs. Larry Carlson of Attica, two brothers, Lawrence of Veedersburg and Clarence of Lansing, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. John Blair of Hammond and Mrs. Beatrice Witt of Greencaslte; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roemer Funeral Chapel at Attica with burial in the family lot at Rockville Memory Gardens at Rockville. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. - kbz
